    Maintenance Notes:

Self-cleaning, no deadheading necessary. Angelface blue angelonia are heat tolerant annual flowers that will grow most vigorously and bloom best when the heat is on. This summer snapdragon plant is best planted in mid-spring or later, since they won't really grow until the temperatures warm up. Angelonia will tolerate wet feet and a fair amount of drought, making Angelface blue angelonia reliable heat tolerant annual flowers for hot gardens and angelonia for containers. The plants are easy care with no deadheading needed. A bit of fertilizer or some compost in a garden bed is usually all that is needed for these plants to thrive.

Due to their heat-loving nature they are one of the plants that can be planted even during the heat of mid-summer, making angelface blue angelonia a dependable summer snapdragon plant for warm climates.

Don't forget that Angelface are great long lasting cut flowers with a slight grape soda fragrance. Try some in a flower arrangement this year and see for yourself! An application of fertilizer or compost on garden beds and regular fertilization of plants in pots will help ensure the best possible performance for angelface blue angelonia, especially when grown as angelonia for containers.

    • I live in Arizona, zone 9B, and there are a few things I can rely on to hold gorgeous color through the screaming heat of our summer months. Not only does the angelface provide this, it has been a perennial for the last two years. I simply cut it back to about 3 inches above the ground after the first light frost, and it blooms again in the early spring. Worth every penny!

    • 2019 is my first year for growing blue angelonia from Proven Winners and I am impressed. Looks great as the center flower in my 30 Inch diameter pot, surrounded by pink and purple petunias and draping vines. We've had lots of rain, high heat, strong winds, and it still looks great. Will buy next year for sure!

    • First time buyer in 2018 and very pleased. Prolific flowering, taller than expected and growing well with only 3 hours of mostly morning sun. Water and basic fertilizer and this fella is off to the races. Definitely recommend especially if you need a taller plant to offset the mid-sized plants.
