    Maintenance Notes:

Each flowering stem adds blooms, continuously to the end of the spike. As time goes on, the flowering stems can get rather long and tangled. Although deadheading isn't necessary for continued blooming you may find that you prefer to trim back some of the flowering stems at some point in mid-summer. This will encourage new flowering stems to emerge. Flowers will be closer to the foliage and the plant will look tidier. If you choose, you can trim all the flower stems off at once, however, you should then expect a 2 to 3 week period without flowers.

Lovely in landscapes or as thrillers in combination containers, gauras add height, wispy texture, and movement to the design. Their graceful stems bear non-stop blooms through the heat of summer.

    • Gaura is one of my fave of all plants! It flowers all summer and the butterflies and hummingbirds love it!

    • Beautiful! I live just south of the 57 parallel, and was surprised at the resilience of this plant! I have mine in 12" pots and they did wonderfully ... And added a delicate element to my garden. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. Like I say .... if it will grow here, it can grow anywhere!!!

    • I received this plant as the tall accent in an outdoor large basket. Everyone who saw it wanted to know what it was. Thank goodness for the Proven Winner label. I received the planter filled with all annuals and it was not until I pulled the tag this spring that I realized it was a perennial. I wish I had transplanted it into the ground. Now I cannot find it to buy again.

    • This is a wonderful plant to use with lilies. It hides the lily stems. My favorite thing about this plant is that it is always in motion. The stems are very lightweight so when the bees land on them they move. A real proven winner. My problem is that I can't find the white variety which is by far my favorite.

    • This plant has been beautiful all summer and even after the last two nights of freezing it is standing tall and blooming profusely. Next year I am putting it in my containers. Just gorgeous.
