To Whom It May Concern; It has been my privilege to have the "New Hampshire Purple" Hardy Geranium, a.k.a. "Bloody Cranesbill" Geranium growing in my yard for more than 23 years. The plant does very well in full sun, but tolerates partial shade. Once established, I found that the New Hampshire Purple, requires very little care, and would likely be a successful plant for an inexperienced or careless gardener. When the plant gets large, it is easy to divide. In my yard the New Hampshire Purple is a gorgeous, reliable part of my garden. Even during the last 3 or 4 hot, dry summers, the New Hampshire Purple has thrived and bloomed. I live in the part of the Maryland suburbs just outside the Washington DC beltway. In addition to its attractiveness, the New Hampshire Purple has shown it self to be hardy even during drought conditions, requiring minimal watering, less than once per week. Last winter, with record cold temperatures, below 15 degrees from December - February, many plant in my area have died. My sturdy New Hampshire Purple geraniums has been covered with blooms since about May 9, and will continue bloom well into July, so long as I continue to "dead head" them regularly. An environmental benefit is that the bees and butterflies in my area also enjoy the New Hampshire Purple's lush blooms, Drought & Cold Tolerance: For the last 4 or 5 years, I have tried repeatedly to purchase New Hampshire Purple Hardy Geranium. Even when I provide the information about the plant, with Proven Winners as a possible source, nursery and garden center managers have repeatedly told me they are unable to get the plant. I have wanted purchase 4-6 of these plants as gifts for friends. My my many years of experience tells me that the New Hampshire Purple Hardy Geranium would be an easy to grow, reliable plant which is particularly those who I would characterize as being inexperienced or very busy home owner with little time for gardening. When I contacted your company's customer service, I was disappointed to learn that the New Hampshire Purple Hardy Geranium is NOT available. This is disappointing. I have tried other hardy geraniums, there are none which can compare to the New Hampshire Purple. Please, bring back the New Hampshire Purple Hardy Geranium. Any questions, please feel free to call me. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Respectfully T.E. Parreco 301-622-6150
