    Maintenance Notes:

Prefers well-drained soils but fairly adaptable to other soil types.  If necessary, prune immediately after the spring bloom.  Best flowering occurs in full sun, but light shade isn't harmful, particularly in warmer climates.

If desired, fertilize in early spring with a granular fertilizer formulated for woody plants, like a rose fertilizer.

Sonic Bloom® Pearl is a humdinger of a weigela!  Sonic Bloom plants have the strongest reblooming seen on weigela, blooming in May and reblooming until frost. The flowers open pure white with a yellow throat and then change to pink, giving you multiple colors on a single plant  The flowers really pop against the bright green foliage.

    • I ordered the Sonic Bloom Pearl Weigela directly from Proven Winners online since I had a hard time finding the color variety near me and was very excited for it in my garden. I planted it Spring 2019 and after a cold winter was very sad in 2020 to see how much had died back. I even reached out to Proven Winners for some tips and was told to just cut it back and see what happens. Well, I am very glad to say that the roots stayed strong and the shrub grew back to its original end of 2019 season size and then some! Despite the intense cutting back that I had to do (and expect I may have to do again this spring), it rebounded amazingly and brought me many blooms for most of the season.

    • I planted several of these in spring 2018, in a very hot location. Full sun exposure until evening, next to a fence that reflects even more heat onto them. They have done very well considering where I put them, blooming quite nicely. I nearly lost them the first summer due to an irrigation failure during the hottest part of the summer. Summers hit 100F, extremely low humidity. Winters to 0F & below. The colors in the pictures are spot-on.

    • Planted three of these last year. Wow!!! Fabulous. Survived hot dry summer (2017) and extra cold (7 degrees for several days) winter. They are all blooming and very healthy.

    • I planted this in 2015, even after a long hot summer and being buried under snow all winter, this spring it has come up with lots of new growth. I am excited to see if it blooms next year

    • This is just a beautiful bush, although quite small when planted last year, it grew and bloomed non stop until late fall. Size didnt seem to matter. I have now ordered another one, in red. I recommend this bush if you like plants that dont need a lot of pampering but enhance your garden for a long season.
