Austin Pretty Limits Oleander – I have one two years old and just bought one I bought this plant online through Home Depot in April 2024. It arrived small, but healthy. I live in Houston and cannot find this anywhere in stores. I planted it in an outdoor planter in full sun to let it get bigger before putting it into the ground. It is now July and this thing has really taken off. It doesn’t seem to bloom all summer long, which is disappointing. The same oleander variety I planted two Summers ago is over 4 feet high and wide, and only has bloomed once this year. (I wish I could post the photos of them here.)

I purchased an Austin Pretty Limits oleander from Lowe's in 2022. I planted it in an area that I realized later didn't get enough sun so a year later (last year - 2023) moved it into an area where it is guaranteed to get 100% sun. It made a huge difference. At first it just grew leaves and bulked up with leave and no blooms. This year (so two years when I planted it) it is is full of beautiful hot pink/fuscia flowers. It is only about 30 inches high at this point as well so not even full grown. I think that plant needs time to get its roots going and leaves sprouting before you will see flowers. You just have to patient. Now I can see the flowers all the way down my street and they are beautiful. I wish it would let me post a photo here!

Purchased a quart in early Spring 2022 and used it as a “thriller,” in a large container. It gave me one flush of blooms. I removed it from the pot and planted it in the landscape in early spring 2023. It had a large flush of blooms that last a month, lulled for a few weeks and is budding up to bloom again. It’s pushing out lots of new stems. Gorgeous shrub but think it definitely follows the 3-year, “sleep, creep, leap,” rule. Love this plant and can’t wait to see it mature!

I just read the reviews from people saying that this plant doesn't bloom. Wait! I planted three of them in 2020 and thought it was hopeless. All of a sudden this year, I have gorgeous pink blooms popping up everywhere and the plants themselves are growing like crazy! By next year I expect to have a full hedge. Just be patient ... the payoff is absolutely stunning.

We planted two of these in containers in March of 2022. It's now March of 2023, and, although they are green and often sprout new leaves, they have never bloomed. I'm disappointed as these were meant to be a bright pop of color welcoming guests!

I had pink oleanders at my previous house that bloomed year round and so I was so excited when I seen the Austin Pretty Limits oleanders that claim to bloom year round. I put them in my backyard in full sun after purchasing them at Lowes and they haven’t had a single bloom yet. It’s been 5 months and I’m really disappointed. I was waiting to plant them in the ground until we put our pool in because I didn’t want them to get damaged but I’m trying to decide if I really want to keep them.

No blooms! I planted this in May 2021, and while it is green and has grown a lot in height, it did not produce a single bloom this year! So disappointing. I was so excited to plant this, as I live very close to Austin, and I figured that if it grew well in Austin that it would also do well in Houston. Other types of oleanders thrive in my area and bloom for much of the year, but so far no blooms at all on this variety. My only hope is that it will start blooming as it gets older. It is now 4 feet tall and lush with greenery, so it is not a baby plant. It is planted in full sun and receives adequate water. Not sure why it has never bloomed...
