Vividly Colored Plants that Bring the WOW Factor
If you want to plant an attention grabbing garden, vividly colored plants are just the ticket. These brightly colored flowers are a great way to bring life to your garden beds and will create a traffic stopping display!
Supertunia Vista® Paradise™ Petunia
Common Name: Petunia
You’ve come to love our line of Supertunia Vista petunias for their incredible vigor, vivid almost flashy colors and outstanding all-season flower power in containers and landscapes. The glowing bright pink flowers blanket the wide spreading foliage from spring through fall without having to remove the spent blossoms. Like all Supertunia petunias, this variety thrives in heat and humidity.
12-24” tall. Part sun to sun. Annual.
Common Name: Salvia
If you want to see pollinators in your garden, plant this salvia. Unlike all the others of this type that have purple flowers, this revolutionary new variety bears large, intense fuchsia flowers with black bracts. Their deep throats hold plenty of nectar for your favorite winged creatures all season long. Rockin’ Fuchsia is also more refined than many salvias of this type, forming a bushy, upright clump of deep green foliage. That means it won’t take over the container when you plant it with other vigorous annuals, and it will fill out beautifully when given plenty of room to strut its stuff in the landscape.
24-36” tall. Part sun to sun. Annual.
Common Name: Verbena
It’s hard to pass up the cheerful raspberry pink flowers of this amazing Superbena. Their clear, vivid color makes them easy to match up with your other favorite flowers in combinations. Like all our Superbena verbenas, it produces large clusters of flowers through the heat of summer without going to seed and is exceptionally resistant to powdery mildew. Try it in hanging baskets, upright containers and window boxes and enjoy its pretty blooms from spring through fall.
6-12” tall. Part sun to sun. Annual
Superbells® Tangerine Punch Calibrachoa
Common Name: Calibrachoa
If bold colors are your style, this is the perfect calibrachoa for you. Its tangerine orange flowers with a deep red eye appear abundantly on cascading stems from spring through fall. It easily makes a statement on its own in a container, but also adds life to recipes when paired with other bold flowers. Since they are self-cleaning, there’s no need to take the time to remove the spent blossoms to keep it in bloom. Calibrachoa grows best in containers with good drainage, so make sure there is at least one hole in the bottom of the pot you use.
6-12” tall. Part sun to sun. Annual
Common Name: Coral Bells
The intense purple color of these leaves are second to none! The foliage is a rich hue, and holds onto its purple color for much of the season. Large, scalloped, incredibly glossy leaves are a bold shade of purple. Charcoal veins accent the leaf color that make the leaves really pop. Dark stems hold rosy pink calyxes and white flowers.
Foliage Height: 10-14” tall. Sun or Shade. Perennial. Zones 4-9
Pyromania™ ‘Solar Flare’ Kniphofia
Common Name: Red Hot Poker
I am featuring ‘Solar Flare’ which is a bright sunny yellow color. However, the Collection is a rainbow of hot colors including red, orange, along with the yellow. The spiky flowers and upright habit gives a unique drama to your landscape, with rebloom extending the color late into the season. Grass-like foliage provides textural contrast to bold-leaved perennials, like Hibiscus. These tropical looking plants are hardy to either zone 5b or 6, if you provide protection.
Height: 3-3.5’. Sun. Perennial. Zones 5b-9 (with protection)
Common Name: Butterfly Bush
With its intensely colored blooms and refined habit, 'Miss Molly' is the queen of the summer garden. Its fragrant flowers are the closest to red of any butterfly bush and appear for months every summer without deadheading. Unlike older varieties of butterfly bush, 'Miss Molly' reaches jut 4-5' tall, so it's easy to work into any sunny landscape. This non-invasive variety thrives in hot climates. Butterflies and hummingbirds will find it as irresistible as you do!
4-5’ tall. Sun. Shrub. Zones 5-9
Common Name: Reblooming Hydrangea
The Let's Dance hydrangea series represents the next generation of reblooming hydrangea. They have improved flower color and attractive foliage so you have a more beautiful garden. Every year, Let's Dance hydrangeas bloom on both new wood and old wood, delivering lots of flowers and lots of wow to your landscape. Let's Dance Rave is a strong, reliable bloomer with an abundance of intensely colored flowers. Bloom color ranges from a rich violet-purple on acidic soils to a saturated pink on basic soils.
2-3’ tall. Part Sun to Sun. Shrub. Zones 5-9.
Common Name: Privet
High quality, glossy foliage emerges bright yellow and ages to chartreuse. It forms a dense, leafy wall that creates lots of privacy, and clusters of white flowers perfume the air in summer. Unfortunately, the privet that's been used for decades is invasive, making a nuisance of itself in your yard and spreading to natural areas. Golden Ticket® is the first non-invasive privet - it has all of privet's good qualities, and none of the bad ones. Very adaptable and easy to grow, this deer-resistant shrub is the smart choice for hedging, screening, and landscaping.
4-6’ tall. Part Sun to Sun. Shrub. Zones 5-8.
